UPDATE — Here’s the official announcement from Weber State.
OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University women’s basketball coach Bethann Ord is thrilled to announce the signing of Carlee Lough to a National Letter of Intent.
“This is an exciting day for Weber State University women’s basketball,” Ord said. “Carlee is our first signee and will be a great addition to our Wildcat family.”
Lough, a 5-foot-11 guard out of Fairview High School in Boulder, Colo., averaged 11.7 points per game this last season for her high school team, earning all region, all conference and honorable mention all-state honors.
As a senior at Fairview this past season, Lough led the Knights to the Colorado Class 5A Great Eight. She also played in the The Show, an all-star Colorado girls basketball game, and the Colorado Activities Association all-star game.
“I’m very excited about what Carlee can bring to our program,” Ord said. “Carlee is long and athletic which will be a great fit for our up-tempo style. She has the ability to defend multiple positions and has a huge upside. We are extremely excited about Carlee; she shares the same vision and commitment to take this program to another level.”
“Carlee has a great work ethic and will do above and beyond what it takes,” said Rob Beauchamp, her coach at Fairview. “She is the ultimate team player and will do very well at Weber State.”
Lough will join Weber State as a freshman this fall.
