Just saw this story in the NYTimes speculating on whether Ms. Governor-of-Alaska-for-a-while Sarah Palin will announce she is running for president.
I am fascinated that Utah’s Oct. 15 deadline for a list of potential candidates is the first hint that we’ll see, nation-wide, that she intends to toss her hat (expensive like last time?) into the ring.
Other than that, who cares? All the other GOP candidates have flamed out — the latest Great Political Hope (a hint at the old “Great White Hope” construction, but Cain is black) Texas Gov. Perry is in the process of making a ass out of himself, proposing to get American Troops involved in the Mexican drug war, as if we don’t already have our troops involved in enough expensive quagmires around the world. Perry is apparently doing this to look tough on immigration because his statements that letting school children of immigrants stay in school was being humane was apparently was too wishy-washy for the Tea Party crowd, and these brave bold leaders in the GOP don’t dare offend the tea party.
Seriously, they all do it. The Tea Party crowd — old white rich and pissed off Republicans — farts and these guys all change their minds to demand it smells like roses. Are they really leaders? Or followers?
And who are they following? Old white rich and pissed off Republicans.
The GOP presidential race is looking more and more like a clown car with a never-ending supply of clowns. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.
Meanwhile, the eyes of the world watch UTAH! Whoot!

We must elect Sarah Palin president in the most crushing tidal wave of enthusiastic good judgment ever seen in the history of this nation. With that one bold move we will accomplish the dual goals of seeing America led by the greatest natural born leader in our generation, even as we witness the final implosion and last agonized shrieks of our endlessly lying extreme left loonies. Their entire movement, from the fabricated attacks on Bush beginning with ‘Blood For Oil’ to the crammed-down-our-gullets lies of Obamacare and the Shovel Ready Stimulus, have been nothing but one vile deceit heaped upon another. Such an absolute inability to deal in the truth or to face the facts of our situation and its solutions only proves that there is simply no place at the grown-ups’ table for these diseased sputa. Good riddance to rubes and bad rubbish. Time to usher in the American Renaissance, carried in on the invigoratingly freshening breeze of President Sarah Palin.

Now that is some creative marketing Fred! Say something ridiculous, like “[Sarah Palin] is the greatest natural born leader in our generation” – then post a link with your name that redirects people to your online store. I say +2 points – that is, no points whatsoever for the direct content of you comment, but two points for the marketing strategy.
At least we would only have to deal with her for two years before a shiny object, or a squirrel (how about a chrome plated squirrel) distracts her and she resigns to make more money touring some other poor country
This is extraordinary. Too bad we can only have one run. They need the collective brains of all to come up with one not awful idea. Except for Mr. Huntsman. Notice no one listens to him. It’s because he doesn’t regularly say really, really stupid things. How interesting is that?
GOP doesn’t listen to Huntsman because it seems these people don’t understand the difference between running for president and the Gong Show. Mitch Daniels would have had the same problem. Maybe some gimmick like gluing an octopus to their head would help – it worked for Trump.
I remain appalled at the suggestion that one of the Timothy McVeigh anti-american anti-education anti-science Regressives would even be considered presidential material.
They talk about fiscal responsibility, which is fine, but it is a smoke screen for their true agenda: An American Christian Fundamentalist Theocracy.
They want power, and then they want to Neo-Con up, and go on a Muslim killing spree.

I’m not that interested in Sarah Palin. She is a good spokesperson for the Tea Party, but I don’t think she’ll run.
