Williams, Korver, Brewer enjoy renuion dinner

Williams, party of three!

With the Jazz and Bulls meeting on Wednesday, much has made of Utah point guard Deron Williams and ex-teammates Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer going out to dinner together. The three were close friends when they all played together and Tuesday marked the first time in nearly a year they were reunited.

Williams and Korver finished out the 2009-10 season on the Jazz roster, but Brewer was traded to Memphis on Feb. 19, 2010.

Korver and Brewer signed with Chicago during the offseason.

It was good. It seems like it’s been a year since we saw each other,” Williams said Wednesday. “We talk a lot but it was good to see them and just have fun a little bit.”

Both the Jazz and Bulls practiced Tuesday at the Zions Bank Basketball Center and the Williams/Korver/Brewer reunion dinner became a hot topic with the media after DWill mentioned their plans.

Quickly, Williams was asked who would pick up the tab for the evening?

I don’t know,” he said. “We’ll figure it out when we get there.”

Later, Korver and Brewer joked that, as guests in town, they shouldn’t have to reach for their wallets when the check arrived.

Before Wednesday morning’s shootaround, Korver said an amicable decision was made.

It was a nice dinner, great conversation. It was good,” Korver said. “We split it up (the check).”
