Weber State defeated Northern Colorado 28-20 on Saturday in a game that saw WSU role players take on bigger roles.
Bo Bolen started in place of senior Trevyn Smith, who was suspended for a violation of team rules, and ran for 207 yards and a touchdown while receiver Joe Collins had nine catches for 80 yards, including a pair of touchdowns.
“That’s what has to happen,” said WSU head coach Ron McBride. “I told these guys two days ago that you don’t know when your number is called and you have to do a job when your number is called.”
Check out a pair of stories in Sunday’s Standard, including one about Bolen taking advantage of his opportunity to shine during a return to his home state.
