Talk to me! ‘Grill the Vegan’ and ‘Show off Your Garden’

After participating in my first podcast last week, it occurred to me that some people might not understand what veganism is or what it entails, so I thought I would add a new feature to my blog: Grill The Vegan. Send me your burning questions or comments – honest, I need the tan!

Also, since I am about to publish some recipes for garden and farmer’s market produce, I thought it would be fun to highlight some readers’ “Victory Gardens.” If you’d like to show off your garden, send me a message – if you’ve got photos, include a link! Tell me all about what you’re growing, what you’re cooking, and how it’s all doing.

To send a message, head over to my profile page and use the handy-dandy form that our Blog Wiz and Podcaster, Casey has added there:

I’m looking forward to your questions, comments, and garden pride!

I like your idea for Grill the Vegan. I’m vegan myself so I don’t have any questions for you, just want to say keep up the work. :)

Gosh the other comments are horrible. Hitler was never a vegetarian. Among his favorite foods were sausages. And to the creature who calls itself “tmone”, you’re just embarrassing yourself. Veganism is not a liberal or conservative issue. It’s an animal, health, and environment issue.

Maybe tmone could use that big and important brain to present you with a real question.

I am constantly arguing with people about B12 deficiency. What is your take on it?

Charles Manson liked to point out that Hitler was a Vegetarian. :)

Veganism is not a diet for “liberals” people are so ignorant. I own an all vegan bakery and cater to a wide variety of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. It’s a great lifestyle that is healthy, cholesterol free, lower in saturated fats, and makes you feel great!!!

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks body detox! Would anyone believe that I feed a 6′ tall construction guy very well on a vegan diet? It’s true. He hasn’t fallen apart yet ;)

And I have never had such a wide variety of food ! (She even makes faux meat – like stuff,…cornedbeef, sausages, egg-like tofu stuff, chickenish like stuff, really tasty! It might even fool you! I got liucky!!!!<3!!!and I have found out that meat protein is catabolic which can wreak havoc on the insulin Growth factor which, in turn, can increase the aging process, lead to a type of diabetes and chrones disease., mess with the endocrine production and a lot of other stuff, too…and blahblahblah

nice blog Catherine, I just stumbled in here and like the recipies. I’mnot Vegan, but I have a large Urban Farm Garden and as such eat a lot of veggies all summer.
I’ll take you up on the offer to show off my garden too. You can see lots of it at my blog. http://apaetoday.blogspot.com.
Enjoy! hope to hear from you.
    Paul~

Vegetarians are not prone in some disease because its really healthy to get more vegetables on your diet than eating oily and junk foods..
